Mastercard adds Crypto consulting service to boost cryptocurrency adoption

Every Bitcoin ATMs and Mastercard user in Warsaw can be satisfied - the times are coming for cryptocurrencies.

Payments giant Mastercard is expanding its payments-focused consulting service to include cryptocurrency. Includes

"a range of digital currency opportunities, from early stage education, risk assessment and bank-wide crypto and NFT strategy development to crypto cards and crypto loyalty program design."

Mastercard announced Tuesday the expansion of its payments-focused consulting service. Among the new practices is one dedicated to "cryptocurrencies and digital currencies," the company wrote.

Noting that it "helps banks navigate the adoption of digital currencies," the payments giant detailed:

"Mastercard's consulting efforts with banks and merchants cover a range of digital currency opportunities, from early stage education, risk assessment and bank-wide crypto and NFT strategy development to crypto cards and crypto loyalty program design."

In other words, banks and merchants will be able to learn how to adopt crypto and NFT. As part of the consultation, Mastercard will teach about Bitcoin ATM and exchanges.

"Mastercard has curated partnerships with digitally native companies that offer best-in-class cryptocurrency solutions."

"helped fintechs expand into new markets, working on market entry planning and commercialization strategies."

Mastercard began introducing crypto to its network in February last year. The company focuses on developing products and services related to cryptocurrencies, stablecoins and central bank digital currencies (CBDCs).

Mastercard now partners with Coinbase

In January, Mastercard partnered with cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase to make non-convertible tokens (NFTs) more accessible to everyone. Customers will be able to use their Mastercard to make purchases on Coinbase's upcoming NFT marketplace.
